NetSprint Search Engine

The Web Search is the company’s first, flagship product developed in early 2000 by a Warsaw-based programming team, headed by Tomasz Skalczyński and Kamil Nagrodzki.

The NetSprint search engine was implemented for the first time in 2000 at Hoga.pl. Since the beginning, the company’s strategic goal has been to increase the number of searched websites steadily. Even then NetSprint indexed as many as 4 million documents. In the PC World Komputer February 2008 Ranking,  NetSprint took the first place as the best search engine in Poland!
 
In 2001, the  NetSprint.pl website appeared for the first time. Also this year, we created the system of more than 140 local websites using our search engine and displaying sponsored links of our advertisers. One of our milestones was the start of the cooperation with the  Wirtualna Polska portal in late 2002. Wirtualna Polska is NetSprint’s key partner. Our cooperation significantly stimulated the process of technological development of our search engine, and increased the NetSprint engine’s coverage among Polish users. In 2003, NetSprint already indexed more than 19 million websites.

In September 2005, we implemented a new NetSprint search algorithm - Traffic Index, which uses traffic information from several hundred thousand domains (according to Gemius data). Websites that can build a community around themselves often contain a large amount of valuable content, and receive special bonuses. In late 2005, the number of indexed documents reached 67 million. By the end of 2007 the number exceeded 100 million. In 2008 we reached 133 million documents. Currently, the number of indexed documents is 200 million and is growing daily.

The NetSprint search engine is not only used for website searching. We also aid Internet users in reaching directory data of specific companies from among 1,000,000 businesses available from Panorama Firm. Our portfolio includes the first Polish news search engine, searching of images, the PWN database, and a dictionary containing five foreign languages.

Every website owner can place our NetSprint search engine on his or her website. The code is modifiable, which makes it possible to adjust the appearance of the engine to the graphical layout of the website. A fundamental component of the search engine is our logo, which you are kindly requested not to modify.
