NetSprint’s expansion into foreign markets – successful implementation of contextual advertising in Lithuania

08.09.2008

NetSprint completed the first implementation of the NetSprint Adserver contextual advertising system outside of Poland. The client is the Lithuanian company Textads, which owns the largest contextual advertising network in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Thanks to NetSprint’s solution, Textads can manage advertising on several hundred Lithuanian-speaking websites. By the end of September, the system will also support Latvian and Estonian websites that cooperate with Textads.

A contextual advertising system is used for managing ad space on websites and for placing contextual advertisements as part of a website partner network. Under the agreement, NetSprint will manage the technological aspect of the enterprise, as well as provide know-how in terms of selling and optimization of ad placement.

The Lithuanian implementation is our first NetSprint Adserver implementation outside of Poland. This is an element of the new NetSprint strategy, which consists of making use of our Polish experience and solutions for expansion into foreign markets. In the nearest future, we are going to further develop the NetSprint Adserver system for our Lithuanian partners, and enrich it with new functionality”, said Maciej Musioł, Advertising Solution Division Manager, NetSprint. The Company is also planning to acquire other foreign clients for its solutions by the end of the year.

The system can be used to describe ads by means of keywords, which makes them adapt to the context of a given website. Ads are also selected on the basis of website categories and the maxCPC rate (the maximum price which the advertiser is ready to pay for a single click), as well as CTR (the click-through ratio, that is the proportion of clicks to the total number of views). The product of all these parameters determines the website on which the ad will appear, as well as the sequence of ads.

This allows advertisers to address their messages precisely to specific target groups. At the same time, other system functions can be used to control the expenditure and the method in which ads are displayed (appearance, location, etc.).

On the other hand, publishers who display ads on their websites can maximize the revenue gained from these ads, because if an ad is appropriately adjusted to the website, it increases the probability that users will click the ad.

„Two factors influenced our choice of NetSprint: the high-quality technology used to select ads for a given context, and the extensive, long-standing experience in terms of the development of the Adkontekst contextual advertising system in Poland. Another key factor is the fact that the solution can be adapted to suit the peculiar character of Baltic markets”, said Andrius Avinas Director of the Textads.lt. The first results after implementation are very interesting. “Our CTR increase by 78% and effective CPM by 61%, it’s very good results” Andrius Avinas added.
